1970 The engineers Klaus Bergmann & Günther Steffen es- tablish a design office, which they consequently spe- cialise and continue to develop. 1980 Development of custom machine engineering, with in- house construction, production, switch cabinet cons- truction and final assembly. Focus is on welding and joining technology. 2000 The company decides to systematically invest in high- performance welding processes. 2005 With Uwe Bergmann, the second generation becomes part of the company management. 2010 Opening of the Bergmann & Steffen laser centre. 2013 Development of the Tornadoblade ® , a new type of blower airknife technology for welding scanners. 2015 Market rollout of the llaserwall ® , an efficient, paten- ted protective wall system for high laser outputs. 2016 Market rollout of the Tornadoblade® , a registered trademark of Bergmann & Steffen. 2018 Plant extension to optimise production processes.
