Remote laser welding Our expertise Remote or scanner welding is a special form of laser welding technology. Remote laser welding systems are frequently coupled to industrial robots. The robot moves the laser scanner in a continuous motion over the component, so that all welding seams in the wor- king area of the laser scanner are simultaneously and practically welded "on the fly". The result is an extremely precise and highly dyna- mic welding system for serial production purposes. It combines the range and agility of a robot with the im- pressive power of a laser scanner in an entirely unique way. This method is particularly suitable for 3D compo- nents, such as car seat backrests, car doors and other structural parts, which have a high number of shorter joints. Special process and clamping technology Our patented laser remote welding process and our patented clamping technology are consistently ad- apted to the remote laser welding process. For this purpose, the components are clamped using a lar- ge number of spring-loaded, pneumatic or hydraulic pressure units in a two-part welding tool. This makes it possible to fix components in a process-reliable manner at almost any number of places in one clam- ping operation. In combination with special air supply and extraction technology integratedinto the fixture, the process is stabilised and can thus be controlled at high laser outputs as well. The practically complete omission of the use of shield gases and compressed air further increases the economic efficiency of our welding systems. 8
